James Gillian plays Boq

James Gillan is from Glasgow and trained at the Arts Educational School in London. Most recently James played ‘John Hinckley’ in Assassins at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. His other theatre credits include ‘Rusty’ in Starlight Express (Apollo Victoria Theatre and UK Tour); ‘Marilyn’ in Taboo (UK tour); the title role in Peter Pan (Royal Festival Hall); ‘Iras’ in Anthony and Cleopatra; ‘Lucius’ in Julius Caesar (Shakespeare’s Globe); the title role in Pippin (Bridewell); ‘Spencer’ in When Harry met Barry (Upstairs at the Gatehouse); ‘Ben’ in Golem (New End, Hampstead); ‘Nick’ in Fame (an Arena tour of Sweden); ‘James’ in Godspell (Chichester Festival Theatre); ‘Benjamin’ in Joseph (UK Tour); the title role in James and the Giant Peach (UK Tour) and Tommy at the Shaftesbury theatre for which he received an Olivier Award Nomination for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical.Television credits include: Doctors; ‘Orrible; The Seven Industrial Wonders of the World (all for the BBC). James sang the title role in Peter Pan for BBC Radio 2. In cabaret James has appeared at the Water Rats, the Jermyn St Theatre and Adlib to name but a few.
